In 1963, the Village of Whiting began planning for a sanitary sewer system with a treatment facility and potable water distribution system.  On May 20, 1967, the Village dedicated the original sewer and water facilities.

Fast forward to the present and much has changed.  With increased levels of water quality standards and regulation the Village’s water and wastewater treatment systems have undergone significant upgrades to improve capacity, treatment and monitoring capabilities.
